Heavy Duty Racks

Mec Storage  provides pallet racking solutions that meet your business’s needs and physical requirements. In terms of pallet rack & HEAVY DUTY  RACKs design, the process can be quite complex. Before designing these HEAVY DUTY RACKs , it is vital to determine their physical limitations and intended use.

Pallet rack design is based on a detailed analysis of the physical environment, the equipment used for moving and storing, the size of pallets, pallet types, storage products, etc.

Three basic components make up the basic frame: columns, struts, and load beams. Because the upright is made up of columns and struts, there are only two basic components: the upright and the load beam.

Due to HEAVY DUTY  RACKs  the fact that each pallet will be resting on two load beams, it is important to know which kind of forklift truck will be used when designing a pallet rack.

Counterbalanced Pallet Trucks should be designed in accordance with the following considerations;

  •  In this case, it is imperative to choose the largest pallet or load width possible.
  •  Approximately how much load is between a pair of upright frames
  •  The typical space  between HEAVY DUTY  RACKs loads and upright frames is about 4 inches, while the space between upright frames is  about 3 inches.

When using a pallet truck with an outrigger, the width needs to match either the load or the outrigger, whichever is greater. In addition to these considerations, there are others

Types of Pallet Racks

HEAVY DUTY STORAGE RACK

Storage sectors and a variety of industries commonly use Heavy-Duty Storage racks. As it can be used for a wide range of purposes, it is also a multi-purpose rack.On the basis of their weight, the products can be divided into medium and heavy categories

Heavy Duty Long-Span Rack @ 1

HEAVY DUTY LONG SPAN RACK

In warehouses & factories longspan racking is designed for heavy-duty hand-loading applications. Racking units are constructed from strong steel components that work together on a single unit to deliver incredibly robust performance.

HIGH RISE STORAGE RACK

The high rise storage racks provide high density storage while still allowing pallets to be accessed individually. Large distribution warehouses handling large quantities of palletised goods benefit from the combination of High Rise Racking and High Rise Stacker Cranes.

CAPACITY DETERMINATION OF THE BEAM

Rather than offering customized solutions, Mec Storage’s HEAVY DUTY  RACKs beam capacity is determined by the weight, the number, and the type of pallet (metal, wooden, or plastic) of the load.

By determining the HEAVY DUTY  RACKs  beam capacity, the beam type can be determined. The  HEAVY DUTY  RACKs with a single level, for instance, may require fewer beams than those with more levels.

ADVANCED FRAMING DESIGN

Dimension of the frame – In order to make sure the frame is as deep as the pallet stringer, the frame depth must be at least 6″ less (3″ increments are recommended).

Adding 6″ to the load overhang or pallet will determine the ‘wall fix length’.ength’.

It is important to consider the following factors when determining the upright height of the frame:

  • To determine the height of the HEAVY DUTY  RACKs  beam, consider the height of the pallet and the load from the floor
  • There needs to be clearance leverage between the bottom of the beam and the top of the load
  • Structural beam thickness
  • Amount of shelf space and levels

Shelf beams support a certain amount of load, which determines the frame’s capacity
